IDEJ SELAH SHAIREL

Idej Selah Shairel is a sole practitioner, certified mediator, private investigator, Notary Public, Commissioner of Oaths, and member of the Law Society of Upper Canada. His academic background includes Audio Engineering, Computer Support, Music and Film Production, Black History, and Canadian Law. As President and Chief of the Native Supreme Council, Idej is recognized for advancing Indigenous legal authority and providing sovereign solutions for Native and oppressed peoples. He is the only Black advocate on record to successfully navigate and litigate a legal claim on Indigenous land, and throughout his legal career he has never once been brought to trial on any challenge.

His professional path spans concert promotion, surveillance and investigation, mediation, legal consultancy, cultural strategy, and appeals relating to human-rights violations and racial discrimination. A master of Indigenous law and an architect of international cultural events, Idej has produced major performances for renowned artists including Capleton, Movado, Bounty Killa, and Sizzla Kalonji. He is historically recognized as the first promoter to bring Sizzla to Canada as a solo headlining artist in 2002, and again in 2025—two landmark appearances made possible through Idej’s successful legal advocacy.

He remains the only documented Black activist to secure lawful Canadian entry for Reggae artists despite organized legal opposition from LGBTQ entities, and is the sole individual on record to prevail in such challenges. His mandate extends to the investigation of global human-rights abuses, legal consultation for the underprivileged, advancement of reparations claims, and the negotiation of international ventures dedicated to uplifting impoverished youth worldwide.
